ADU Basketball links Japanese and Australian Junior Basketball through exciting and innovative 'basketball home stay experiences'. It is the only known organization in Japan/Australia to offer such an opportunity. 

ADU Basketball was founded thanks to a dream of friends; two Australians (Allan and Lari Hilzinger) and two Japanese (Yuichi and Misato Ito). They wished to link junior basketball in their home countries to offer an amazing experience that until now has never been offered. After two years of planning and setting up what is now known as ADU Basketball, it is no longer a dream for the founders. Nor is it just a dream for any young Japanese or Australian basketballers to share an amazing and rare experience of learning another culture/language, making international friends and opening their eyes to what this world has to offer. The best part is that it is done through enjoying something they love and have in common.... BASKETBALL.

The first tour from Japan to Australia was successfully completed in August 2005 and considered by all involved to be a major success. The players and everyone involved (both Japanese and Australian) had one of the greatest experiences of their lives and will undoubtedly treasure the opportunity forever.

Thanks to the success and results of ADU Basketball so far, it has quickly expanded in an attempt to allow more Japanese and Australians a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Additionally, ADU Basketball is not about making big profits (as can be seen from the price it costs to be part of an ADU Basketball tour) but is actually about offering an experience that most players can only remotely dream about having.

ADU Basketball management feel truly privileged to be able to offer a unique chance to both the Australian and Japanese basketball communities and hope that many players can continue to enjoy the opportunities and experiences ADU Basketball has to offer.
